Safe tutoring sessions

Here's how we're keeping everyone safe this school year:

Virtual Sessions

Families not comfortable with meeting their tutor in-person may opt for virtual sessions hosted through Zoom, FaceTime, or a similar platform at no additional cost.

When in-person tutoring does occur, we follow CDC-issued regulations on social distancing (sitting apart from one another & not sharing materials). We only host sessions at venues where social distancing can be observed.

Social Distancing

Masks

In-person tutoring sessions are only performed if the tutor & the student both agree to wear a mask for the entirety of the tutoring session. Parents are required to wear masks when interacting with the tutor. This includes at-home sessions.

Students & tutors both complete symptom checks the morning before their planned in-person tutoring session. Sessions will be rescheduled / moved online if one or both parties signal symptoms or possible exposure.

We also periodically update our members with important information. Here's the most recent communication we've sent:

November 24, 2020 covid-19 update

After discussion and evaluation of the COVID-19 pandemic, True Tutor, LLC executive personnel have decided to operate the Spring 2021 (January - June) semester under the same regulations & guidelines as seen in the Fall 2020 (August - December) semester. This means the Terms and Conditions of the Coronavirus Policy already posted to yourtruetutor.com/terms will continue to be upheld within all of True Tutor's Spring 2021 operations. Masks, social distancing, and cleanliness protocol will be a feature of all in-person tutoring; customers may choose between in-person or virtual tutoring; tutors may opt to be online-only tutors; Area Operators reserve the right to run their zone on an in-person limited basis, meaning that they may choose to honor requests for in-person tutoring on a case-by-case basis only.

In Spring 2021, True Tutor, LLC will roll-out a nationwide program that ensures adjustments to digital learning are a feature of every Zoom-based True Tutor tutoring session. Each session will include digital learning etiquette, introduction to common features such as screen-sharing, digital hand-raising, and digital marker/whiteboard use, and customized curriculum based upon a student's individual struggles with online learning (if applicable). This default feature will be a component of every True Tutor tutoring session at no additional charge, and the duration of these tutorials/discussions will be based upon a student's individual struggles with adjusting to e-learning.

Throughout the next calendar month, True Tutor, LLC will be exploring the logistics and requirements of at-home tutoring. As of now, at-home tutoring is not available with any True Tutor service; based upon legal and internal protocol, True Tutor is looking to begin offering at-home tutoring as early as mid-December. A future COVID-19 update will indicate the logistics & executive decisions regarding at-home tutoring.

Please refer to the already-existing protocol for students, parents, management personnel, and tutors for important information regarding our Coronavirus Policy. Every tutoring session must occur in accordance with this policy, which can again be accessed via yourtruetutor.com/terms.

September 27, 2020 Covid-19 Update

With the new school year in full swing, we would like to remind our members that True Tutor is taking the steps to ensure our tutoring sessions are run as safely as possible. Most zones have chosen to run their operations with online-only tutoring; if you believe you should be considered for a case-by-case exception (i.e. child is specifically struggling with online learning), please submit a request to owners@yourtruetutor.com. When in-person tutoring does occur, we are requiring parents/guardians, tutors, students, and anyone else involved with the tutoring session to wear a mask, avoid contact/sharing materials whenever possible, and maintain as much distance as possible. As always, tutoring sessions may not occur at homes or private residences, and only public venues (such as coffee shops) that are enforcing masks will be considered as a meeting spot for the tutoring session. Our mask requirements and COVID-19 terms and conditions are applicable everywhere in which we operate, even if our requirements exceed those of local/regional mandates.
